NICK PERKINS

Acting Chair / Legal / Governance / Board Nominations

Nick joined the board in 2015 and is currently Acting Chair. He is a practising lawyer as well as the leader of the Geminder Family Office, located in Melbourne. He has worked for the Geminder Family for 13 years, initially as the General Counsel of their packaging business, Pact Group, where he led the legal, acquisitions and property teams and then following Pact’s listing in 2013, became leader of the newly created family office.

A graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Nick holds a number of Board positions, as well as supporting the philanthropic endeavours of the broader Pratt family. His business and legal skills, broad philanthropic network and firm commitment to improving opportunities for disadvantaged members of the community, enables him to make a meaningful contribution to Wear for Success.

PETER GLUSKIE

Fundraising

A board member since 2015, Peter is a long-term volunteer of Wear for Success and a qualified engineer with a Masters in Business Administration.

He runs his own company delivering large-scale business transformation projects on behalf of major Australian organisations. After initially visiting a fundraising clothing sale at Wear for Success, Peter wanted to do more and became a volunteer. Since then he has contributed to a wide range of fundraisers, written grant submissions and was a founding committee member of the Suitably Connected networking group. He currently chairs the Fundraising Committee, where his strong project management skills are well leveraged, coordinating fundraising, events and funding submissions.

PETER PRYN

Treasurer / Financial Controller

A board member since 2016, Peter is a Chartered Accountant, business advisor and Director at Hall Chadwick Melbourne. He leads the firm’s finance, human resources, IT infrastructure and general management. He also manages the offshore outsourcing team and turnkey services offered in the Back Office Support team.

Peter has over 30 years experience as a Chartered accountant, both in industry and professional practice, including ten years running his own accountancy practice. Peter became a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in July 2008. Outside of work Peter has been actively involved in an array of community service groups, business chambers, sporting clubs and charity organisations over many years. In addition to sitting on the board, Peter volunteers as Treasurer and manages the financials for internal reporting requirements and ANC compliance. Through Peter, Hall Chadwick provide much valued pro-bono accounting services to Wear for Success.

MELISSA HIDER

Marketing, Brand & Communications

A board member since 2012, Melissa has worked in marketing and communications for over 25 years.

She started her career in entertainment and fashion PR in Brisbane, before working in the UK for organisations including the Princes Trust charity, London First inward investment group, Polygram Records and AXA Equity. On her return to Australia she completed an MBA and since has worked in Melbourne-based senior marketing communications roles for a number of top tier professional consulting organisations including KPMG, Ferrier Hodgson and boutique engineering firm BECA.

Her board role with Wear for Success has evolved to be very hands-on, as she also performs the role of volunteer Marketing Manager, working very closely with General Manager, Jodie Tuckwell-Knight

JULIE QUIRK

Volunteer Representative

Julie is a founding volunteer of Wear For Success. She was appointed to the Board in 2015 where she performs the role of Volunteer Liaison and is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, prosperity and growth of the organisation.

Julie recently completed studies relating to the community services and welfare sector, and is currently working as a Social Worker at the Salvation Army Crisis Contact Centre and The Sacred Heart Mission Women’s House both located in St Kilda. She finds the work challenging yet rewarding and complimentary to the work we do at Wear For Success.

She is passionate about our volunteers and the vital part they play in the charter of our organisation. In addition to her board role she continues to volunteer in the showroom herself, to remain in close contact with the volunteer force and stay connected to the clients we support.

DANIELLE BAILLIE

Volunteer Representative

Danielle is a founding volunteer and has been on the board since its inception in 2010. She was part of the enthusiastic group of volunteers who started the organisation to support long term unemployed men and women - the first of its kind in Australia to do so.

Since those first meetings in April 2010 she has been involved in various aspects of the organisation and loves the passion and dedication the volunteer group display to every client. Danielle acts as a volunteer liaison on the board, volunteers at fundraising clothing sales and continues to volunteer when she can on Saturdays in the Showroom. She especially loves seeing the transformation that clients go through. She is a merchandise Planner at The Just Group.

LIAM HAYES

People & Culture

Liam joined the Wear for Success board in 2016 and is also the Chief People Officer at Aurecon. As part of Aurecon’s global leadership team he leads the People team, which focuses on providing solutions that enable Aurecon to attract the best talent and develop their people to meet our client’s current and future challenges.

At Aurecon his team partner with the Aurecon leadership team to execute culture change, organisational and leadership development strategies, and programmes such as the award-winning Mind Matters programme, which won the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) Award for Mental Health in the Workplace and the Māori cadet programme, which won the Māori and Pacifica Diversity award at the ‘Young at Heart’ Youth Employer Pledge Awards.

He loves the impact Wear for Success has on so many lives. The combination of his professional background and his passion for seeing people succeed enables Liam to make a positive contribution to Wear for Success, particularly regarding our volunteer workforce.

JODIE TUCKWELL-KNIGHT

General Manager

Jodie has been employed at Wear for Success since 2014, initially joining to develop the career support program and build relationships with key referral agencies before taking on the key leadership role. Having commenced as a Saturday volunteer dresser in 2011, she continues to volunteer as it offers close contact with the clients and the opportunity to see first hand the joy their simple service brings.

Jodie has worked for over 10 years in the community sector in roles allowing her to focus on people and service, things she is passionate about. A people person with a varied career spanning not-for-profits, telecommunications and digital media, Jodie has always been drawn to roles in customer service, marketing and account management.

She is focused on providing strong leadership and establishing strong relationships and collaborations that will benefit Wear for Success and allow us to deliver an outstanding service to people in need, breaking down barriers to employment.
